Welcome John: 2025 Summer Rehabilitation Intern!
John is a senior at Michigan State University, where he is completing his B.S in Animal Science with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary medicine. He is currently in the process of applying to veterinary schools across the country in hopes of studying small animal/companion medicine with a specialization in orthopedic surgery and wildlife rehabilitation. John has experience in a small animal hospital setting where he assisted in exploratory and laparoscopic surgeries, as well as experience with working with livestock. Last summer he worked at a Rhinoceros rehabilitation sanctuary in South Africa, where injured or orphaned rhinos that are victims of poaching are taken to be cared for.
While working at Wolf Hollow, John will be conducting a case series that aims to establish standardized treatment, rehabilitation, and biosecurity protocols for wild raptors afflicted with Avian Poxvirus. John is very excited to get more experience in wildlife rehabilitation working with the many different species that Wolf Hollow aims to help!
