Welcome Summer: 2025 Summer Rehabilitation Intern!

Summer grew up in Apple Valley, California, surrounded by a wide variety of animals ranging from reptiles to livestock. These early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine. In June 2025, she graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.S. in Animal Science.

During her time at UC Davis, Summer held multiple internships through the UC Davis Veterinary Hospital, where she primarily worked with companion animals. It wasn’t until she began volunteering regularly at the California Raptor Center that she discovered her love for wildlife rehabilitation. There, she gained hands-on experience caring for various raptor species and participated in community events educating the public about local raptors.

Summer’s next steps include obtaining her certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She is looking forward to her time at Wolf Hollow and gaining more hands-on experience working with a wide variety of local wildlife species!
