Wildlife Rehabilitator Technician

Primary Objectives: To treat injured and orphaned wildlife with the goal of returning them to the wild, and to lessen mental and physical suffering in patients. To oversee all daily aspects of rehabilitation and to train and supervise seasonal rehab staff and animal care volunteers at Wolf Hollow. This position requires a Washington State Wildlife Rehabilitation Permit. Applicants need to be licensed or be eligible to take the licensure test within 30 days.

Wildlife Rehabilitator Internship
Open until February 15, 2025
Wolf Hollow’s wildlife rehabilitation interns learn by working with our experienced wildlife rehabilitation staff during the busy summer season. In this internship, you will learn through actual hands-on experience, as well as put this rehabilitation knowledge into context by learning about the ecology of the San Juan Islands and threats to wildlife in the area. Interns who come to Wolf Hollow during different parts of this season will gain different types of experience. It can be highly variable from year to year. The work also includes activities indirectly related to animal care. Food preparation, cleaning, laundry and facilities maintenance are just as important for the well-being of the animals in our care as direct care. All work activities essential to the smooth running of the facility. On-site housing and a stipend are provided.

Education Internship
Open until February 15, 2025
Wolf Hollow’s Education Intern works with our Education Coordinator during the busy summer season to man booths at events, prepare education materials, work with children’s groups and many other aspects of our outreach program. This internship provides the opportunity to learn more about local wildlife, human impacts on these animals and their habitats, and the work of a wildlife rehabilitation center. On-site housing and a stipend are provided.
