Welcome to our 2025 Seasonal Rehabilitation Technician!

Kristina Bartz grew up in the outskirts of Denver, Colorado. She has been interested in wildlife and nature since a young age. She earned her degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and Management from the University of Wyoming in 2017. She entered the animal care field through an internship at Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center where she worked with birds, waterfowl and small mammals. She was later hired as paid staff before venturing into field biology. She has helped research Piping plovers and Black rails, an endangered shorebird and endangered marsh bird, respectively.

Most recently, she helped with a breeding and release program with the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance to help San Clemente Loggerhead Shrike conservation efforts. She is excited to work with Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center to work with more species and get back into wildlife rehabilitation.
